At the 1st Quarter National Maritime Council Press Briefing, Usec. Alexander Lopez of the National Maritime Security reaffirmed the Philippines’ steadfast commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and supporting coastal communities through a unified, multi-sectoral approach.
He underscored the government’s proactive vigilance in defending the country’s maritime interests, especially in the West Philippine Sea . Usec. Lopez emphasized that the administration’s efforts extend beyond protecting territorial integrity to ensuring the safety, welfare, and sustainable development of all Filipinos dependent on these vital maritime zones.
He also highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, local stakeholders, and international partners to uphold peace, security, and responsible resource management in the region.
