LOOK: The Philippine Coast Guard conducted a medical evacuation of two Philippine Navy personnel who were injured during a confrontation at Ayungin Shoal on July 20, 2026. During the evacuation, a China Coast Guard vessel attempted to impede the operation.
In a press conference, Rear Admiral Jay Tarriela said that after undergoing thorough medical examinations by Philippine Coast Guard medical personnel, the two AFP personnel were safely transported to Oyster Bay, Palawan, where they were turned over to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) this morning, July 22, 2026.
