Knowledge is power. Awareness inspires action.
Last August 9, our dedicated educators from the Department of Education (DepEd) NCR educators joined a special block screening of ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฒ: ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ โ the award-winning documentary by Baby Ruth Villarama โ at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati City.
The event, jointly hosted by the ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ and ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ฌ, gave teachers a front-row seat to the courage of our fishermen, the sacrifices of our PCG and AFP personnel, and the realities of life in the West Philippine Sea.
In a heartfelt exchange with ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐ and ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐, our educators expressed their passion for bringing these stories โ and the history of the WPS โ into their classrooms. They suggested updating the school curriculum to strengthen maritime awareness among the youth and shared their hope that this film will be screened in more cinemas nationwide so more students can witness its powerful message.
Because the fight for the West Philippine Sea begins with awareness and education โ and you, our teachers, are on the frontlines.
