𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐏𝐂𝐆) 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 (𝐖𝐏𝐒) 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚 called on teachers to 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲’𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 during the culminating activity for Buwan ng Kasaysayan 2026 of the Schools Division of Zambales.
RADM Tarriela emphasized that 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲’𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚. He warned that without sufficient knowledge, young Filipinos may fail to understand what the country is fighting for, allowing misinformation to influence their perception of the issue.
He urged educators to help instill in their students the importance of standing up for the Philippines’ rights, underscoring the 𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬.
