The Philippine Coast Guard Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, has committed to deploying the PCGโs 97-meter and 44-meter vessels, along with aircraft assets, to Malampaya East 1 as one of the strategic actions to enhance security in the area following the discovery of a new source of natural gas.
โSuch deployment will ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ง ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ and will ๐ก๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง of critical and vital energy facilities in the Malampaya areaโ, said PCG Spokesperson for West Philippine Sea, Commodore Jay Tarriela.
Due to the newly discovered resource of Natural Gas, the PCG is now more ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ to ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฅ๐จy their assets in most significant areas of the country as part of the PCG mandates to enforce the country’s ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ as well as to ensure the rights and freedom of every Filipino fishermen.
