In a move aimed at strengthening national identity and maritime stewardship, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed ๐„๐ฑ๐ž๐œ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐Ž๐ซ๐๐ž๐ซ ๐๐จ. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, ๐ฌ. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, officially assigning Filipino names to 131 islands, reefs, and maritime features in the ๐Š๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐š๐ง ๐ˆ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ ๐†๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ in ๐๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ง and the ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐’๐ž๐š. Among them are ๐Š๐š๐ ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š๐ง ๐‘๐ž๐ž๐Ÿ, ๐Š๐š๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ข ๐๐š๐ง๐ค, and ๐๐š๐ -๐š๐ฌ๐š ๐‚๐š๐ฒ, with the directive that these names be used in official maps, government records, and school materials.
