It looks like Ambassador Jing Quan is finally posting under the Embassy’s own name instead of hiding behind his spokespersons. At least now the Ambassador takes ownership of these silly messages.

On “someone in the Philippines deliberately seeking confrontation,” please look at the size of your vessels and then look at ours. How exactly do our cute little 44-meter PCG ships “provoke” your CCG monster cutters and your PLA Navy destroyers? Our vessels sail inside our own exclusive economic zone to resupply our fishermen and our troops. Your vessels block, ram, water cannon, and chase them there. The only “confrontation” China wants to avoid is Filipinos refusing to be quiet. What you really want is for us to stop standing up for our rights, stop reporting what your ships do, and accept your ten-dash line in silence.

Moreover, the Ambassador seems quite fascinated with Secretary Gibo Teodoro. Beijing has already sanctioned him and his family, banned them from the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau, and effectively declared him persona non grata. And still, he lives rent-free inside the Embassy’s head.

Lastly, on the Chinese-language teachers: your partner organization, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said in writing that the volunteer teachers were recalled at the request of their own parents in China, with the approval of the Chinese Embassy itself. No Filipino soldier knocked on a single classroom door. No teacher was detained. No one was deported. Their parents asked them to go home, and your Embassy signed off on it. So why blame Secretary Teodoro for a decision your own Embassy approved?
