The West Philippine Sea (WPS) Mural Festival 2026, organized by WPS – We Protect our Seas, was officially launched on ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ at Shangri-La The Fort, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), inviting Filipino artists nationwide to create public artworks that promote patriotism and support efforts to protect the West Philippine Sea.
Carrying the theme โ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ง ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ง,โ organizers said the festival aims to strengthen public awareness and highlight the role of art in expression and nation-building. The launch was attended by ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐, ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐จ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฉ๐ข๐จ, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐, ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐, ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ ๐๐รฑ๐จ, representatives from the ๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ ๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ, partners from the academe, and media organizations.
Under the competition guidelines, selected mural entries ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ ๐๐ญ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ, displayed in public spaces, and supported by written permission from the property owner. Artists below 18 years old are required to submit parental or guardian consent. Participants must also provide a canvas version of their mural design.
