Beginning in School Year 2026, the ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐๐๐ฉ๐๐), in partnership with the ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ค ๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ (๐๐๐ -๐๐๐) and the ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐, will officially integrate lessons about the West Philippine Sea (WPS) into the ๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ง curriculum for ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ฌ 4, 6, ๐๐ง๐ 10.
This milestone ensures that young Filipinos learn about our maritime rights, the 2016 Arbitral Ruling, and the importance of defending our sovereignty and sovereign rightsโempowering them to see through Chinaโs disinformation and stand firm for what is rightfully ours.
Central to this effort is the 40-page comic book โ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ซ ๐๐ฎ๐งโ, a fun and engaging tool developed with top legal experts, educators, and the PCG. Through storytelling, complex issues are made relatable and easy to understand for students.
As emphasized by PCG Spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela, this is more than just a lesson planโit is an investment in shaping a generation that knows the truth, defends the truth, and takes pride in our seas. Under the leadership of ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐, the inclusion of WPS education will help ensure that every Filipino student grows up aware, informed, and ready to uphold our rights in our maritime domain.
Because the West Philippine Sea is not just waterโit is history, livelihood, and the future of every Filipino.
