He also reaffirmed the PCG’s commitment to protecting Filipino fishermen from harassment and bullying through the active deployment of Coast Guard vessels in the West Philippine Sea. Commodore Tarriela highlighted the significance of the Philippine Maritime Zones Act, which affirms the country’s sovereign rights under international law and ensures that Filipino fishers can safely operate in their traditional fishing grounds.
