Lawmakers Push Hazard Pay for Civilian Frontliners in the West Philippine Sea

Lawmakers are pushing for additional protection and compensation for civilian frontliners, including maritime workers, researchers, and other government personnel through the proposed ๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘, which seeks to grant ๐ก๐š๐ณ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ฉ๐š๐ฒ based on actual exposure to risky assignments.

Under the bill, the amount or rate of hazard pay will be determined by concerned government agencies and will be computed according to the number of days personnel are exposed to hazardous duty. Lawmakers added that providing hazard pay recognizes the ๐ฌ๐š๐œ๐ซ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ faced by personnel assigned in the West Philippine Sea.
