The Philippines remains steadfast in protecting its sovereignty and maritime rights in the West Philippine Sea through its policy of transparency. Speaking at the Atlantic Council stage, Philippine Coast Guard Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚 clarified that publicly revealing developments in the region should not be interpreted as a rejection of economic cooperation or friendly relations with neighboring countries.
Instead, Rear Admiral Tarriela highlighted that enduring peace and stability can only thrive when truth is acknowledged, accountability is upheld, and international law is respected by all nations.
