DND Rejects China’s Call to Abandon Bajo de Masinloc

The ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ƒ๐ž๐Ÿ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ž firmly rejected China’s call for the Philippines to abandon its initiatives and position regarding ๐๐š๐ฃ๐จ ๐๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ฅ๐จ๐œ (๐’๐œ๐š๐ซ๐›๐จ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐’๐ก๐จ๐š๐ฅ).

In a statement, the DND emphasized that BDM is an ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ, and maintained that the Philippines’ exercise of its sovereignty are in accordance with the ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‹๐š๐ฐ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐’๐ž๐š (๐”๐๐‚๐‹๐Ž๐’) ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž 2016 ๐€๐ซ๐›๐ข๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐.

Moreover, the Philippines affirmed it will continue to lawfully exercise its sovereignty and remain undeterred by China’s aggressive activities, false narratives, and disruption of the rules-based international order.
