A maritime security programme organized by ๐Š๐จ๐ง๐ซ๐š๐-๐€๐๐ž๐ง๐š๐ฎ๐ž๐ซ-๐’๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐  gathered policymakers, diplomats, military officials, and security experts to discuss Europeโ€™s evolving security posture and strengthened cooperation with Indo-Pacific countries, including the Philippines.

The Philippines was represented by Philippine Coast Guard Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, ๐‘๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐€๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐‰๐š๐ฒ ๐“๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฅ๐š. Discussions highlighted Europeโ€™s strong commitment to international law and the rules-based international order. While European partners are currently addressing pressing security concerns within their region, there is clear recognition of the strategic importance of supporting stability in the Indo-Pacific โ€” particularly in preventing coercive actions and upholding lawful maritime conduct.

Key topics included maritime security, protection of critical infrastructure, and freedom of navigation in contested areas such as the ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐’๐ž๐š. While support for deeper cooperation was affirmed, global leaders underscored the value of international cooperation in addressing regional security challenges while recognizing that Europe’s domestic security priorities may influence the peace of long-term commitments.

Engagements such as these underscore the importance of sustained dialogue and practical cooperation to advance shared security interests and maintain peace and stability in the ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐’๐ž๐š and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
