The ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ (๐๐๐) challenged ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก (๐๐๐) ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ฌ conducted by vessels from the ๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐โ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ (๐๐๐) during a routine Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) flight last Wednesday over the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG).
According to ๐๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐, the ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ 4177 ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ “๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ 33” together with ๐๐ก๐ข๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ (๐๐๐) ๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ 5309, which was found stationary approximately 7.34 nautical miles west of Rozul Reef.

Based on Canadaโs Dark Vessel Detection (DVD) system, the “๐๐ข๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ 33” departed China on April 15 and has since been systematically conducting survey activities across multiple features within the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone.
