In more than 30 years of navigating the West Philippine Sea, a fisherman from ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ , named ๐๐จ๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐จ, 56 years old, has long been central to both his livelihood and his way of life.
On Jan. 28, Drio formally joined the ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ซ๐ฒ (๐๐๐๐) at the Peoples Development Institute Alternative Development Center in Barangay Bulawen, alongside fellow fishers from Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan who have ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐ in the ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐. The ceremony was headed by the Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐.
For Drio and others, joining the PCGA allows them to give back by sharing their maritime knowledge to ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ, ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.
