The important thing this decade exposed is a China that breaks its treaty commitments, disregards international law and violates its neighbors’ maritime rights.
And I hope the Chinese Communist Party can remember this: in the next 100 years, even if China ignores it, it can never diminish the legal authority and power of the 2016 Arbitral Award.
