The National Security Council (NSC) is dedicated to ensuring the country’s security by continuing to monitor the situation in Escoda Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. NSC Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya said, “What I can assure the public is that ‘yong ating monitoring sa Escoda Shoal, hindi po ‘yan nagbabago.” Furthermore, the National Maritime Council and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said that the government has already sent a replacement after the pullout of BRP Teresa Magbanua, demonstrating their commitment to maintain the presence in the area.
