The Philippines has also pushed back against a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Manila, which it described as an attempt to โrewrite history.โ
In an interview, AFP spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Ret. RAdm. Roy Vincent Trinidad said that the ๐๐๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ง๐๐, as there is no legally binding commitment to remove it from Ayungin Shoal. He said that the vesselโs presence initiates lawful and permanent sovereign deployment on that feature over which the Philippines exercises sovereign rights and jurisdiction.
